the path of the Hanged Man

Stick and Balloon wishes all our wonderful readers a very very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a happy happy new year!

Here’s a gift from our previous monster in residence Dave Shovlin…

Merry Christmas!

Whales have nipples.

“Nursing a newborn is no “small” feat for the whale, whose calf emerges, after 10 to 12 months in the womb, about a third the mother’s length (that’s a 30-foot baby for the Blue whale). The mother squirts milk into the newborn’s mouth using muscles around the mammary gland while the baby holds tight to a nipple (yes, whales have them). At nearly 50 percent fat, whale milk has around 10 times the fat content of human milk, which helps calves achieve some serious growth spurtseas much as 200 pounds per day. “

This is an old digital painting fugitive who ran away. I finally caught it. The most recent painting is “A Situation.”

Digital runaway

A Situation.

I thought… “I thought…”

But, Because… and I woke up swearing.

Question: Do raabits rabbits make noise?
Answer: Yes! While most rabbits don’t, there are some rabbits that will grunt or snort, some what similar to a guinea pig. They generally do this when they are not happy. Some rabbits will snore when sleeping. Rabbits can also scream. It is a horrible sound that they only make in extreme situations such as fear and pain. It is very uncommon to hear them scream.

Question: Do raabits
rabbits cry?
Answer: Rabbits don’t cry as humans can, but rabbits do create tears. A rabbit may occasionally have a wet, or teary eye, if something is bothering the eye, like fur. (Those tears would dry, making “eye crusties.” ) A more serious reason for a rabbit to have a wet, teary eye is as a symptom of an infection in the body, or because a tear duct is blocked. If your rabbit has a persistent wet eye, then make a vet appointment to assess the cause.

Question: Do raabits rabbits like to be held?
Answer: No- most rabbits hate being held. Being animals of prey they feel better having both feet on the ground. You can still snuggle with them and most love attention!

Question: What can you do with cardboard boxes?
Answer: Raabits Rabbits love to go inside cardboard boxes. They use them as secluded rest areas and then customize them, digging and chewing. Some people add hay for them to dig in.

Question: Are wild raabits rabbits the same as pet raabits rabbits?
Answer: No. Our domesticated pet rabbits are descendents of European rabbits and are a different species than the wild rabbits you see outside.

Question: Should raabits rabbits live alone?
Answer: Most rabbits are happier when they live with a mate. However, first you must spay/neuter the rabbits. Then they must be introduced gradually. This is generally referred to as “bonding” or “dating”.

Question: Can raabits
rabbits sweat?
Answer: No, rabbits can’t sweat - they don’t have any sweat glands. To regulate their body temperature, they use their ears. Rabbit ears contain major networks of blood vessels, which, since their ears are set apart from their bodies, serve to cool the blood. So when the weather is hot, it’s a good idea to feel your rabbit’s ears. If they seem hot, you can wipe them with a cool, damp towel, or spray them with a cool spray bottle. (Note- there are some people who say that rabbits have sweat glands around their lips. We have not been about to confirm or refute this)

Question: Do raabits rabbits have pads on the bottoms of their paws, like dogs and cats?
Answer: No, rabbits do not have pads on their paws - only fur. Rabbits should have a soft blanket or rug (sheepskin rugs are terrific) and should have their feet checked regularly for signs of sore hocks (bald, inflamed areas on the bottom of the feet).

Question: Why are raabits rabbits also called bunnies?
Answer: The word “bunny” comes from a separate English term bun, which was used in place of the word “rabbit” in some areas in medieval England. A third word used by Norman French invaders of England was coney, from which we get Coney Island.

Question: Are raabits
rabbits nocturnal?
Answer: No, rabbits are crepuscular. This means that they are most active at dusk and dawn.

Question: Do raabits
rabbits like bananas?
Answer: Most rabbits love bananas. They are not a good staple food, but make a nice treat for your bunnies. Small quantities only- about a half inch per rabbit.

The Last FallI originally posted only the line drawing for this. It’s changed somewhat.

This just in! A strange piece of what appears to be a part of sky crash landed a mere couple of minutes ago with a blazing trail of pocky-fied trees and roasted monkeys, straight through the doors (bless their charred noble souls) of the House! Other Monsters speculate that it could be a piece of Sky from that new Monster in Residence’s homeland, but the skeptics think otherwise. Even as I speak, hordes of Doomsday Monsters are running out onto the streets with naught but the fur on their bodies (or less) proclaiming that the End of the World has come!!
**”OI! Bring back the caffiene bags!!” yells Stick in background**
**what?? —oh that’s the one?— mein gott — right okay.**
Yes, we have it confirmed. The piece of Sky really is from the Monster publicly known as David Hendrix Shovlin!

Exhibit A.

Every monster needs a healthy dose of random information. And Beeg Mama is here to make sure all the monsters, visiting or lurking, receives their recommended dosage of trivia. 11th November has been declared by Japanese company Glico corporation as “Pocky Day” as the date resembles the chocolate coated sticks: 11/11. (Does this mean its Stick’s day as well?)

Pocky (ポッキ) is a Japanese snack food produced by the Ezaki Glico Company of Japan. It was first sold in 1965, and consists of a biscuit stick coated with chocolate. Pocky was an instant hit among Japanese teenagers, and brought in sales of 30 billion yen in its first two years. The name was changed to “Pocky”, after the Japanese onomatopoetic word for the sound Pocky makes when bitten, pokkin (ポッキン). The original was followed by “Almond Pocky” in 1971, with an almond coating, and “Strawberry Pocky” in 1977. Today, the product line includes such variations as milk, mousse, green tea and coconut flavored coatings, and themed products such as “Decorer Pocky”, with colorful decorative stripes in the coating, and “Men’s Pocky”, a dark (bittersweet) chocolate and “mature” version.
